Accomplishments

With the generosity of those in our community, in our 2010-2011 fiscal year:

Our Neighborhood Service Center provided:

  • Served 1,475 individuals.  Of those, 92% attempt to survive on an annual income less than $10,550. The services offered include accurate information and referrals, bilingual translation, care package and diaper program, case management, and housing through the Homeless Prevention Rapid Re-housing Program.  We have also entered into a partnership with the City of Hamilton and the Butler County Family and Children First Council (BCES), to provide translation services for their clients.
  • Thanks to support from local churches, 269 individuals (55 families) received a Thanksgiving basket, 66 children (21 families) received Christmas presents, and 266 individuals (49 families) received an Easter meal. 
  • 485 individuals participated in adult educational and outreach programs such as employability workshops, sewing and mending classes, English as a Second Language classes and a community health fair.

At our After-School and Summer Youth programs:

  • 369 children and teens were served through academic and recreational programs
  • 9,463 books were read and literacy skills improved (a 75% increase from 2010)
  • Youth improved their Life Skills and Developmental Assets
  • 88% of our students moved on to the next grade level
  • 17,421 summer lunches and snacks were provided to neighboring children (a 90% increase from 2010)
